Ayin Aleph - Ayin Aleph I
To be honest I was quite curious about this band and album. I read on their myspace that Ayin Aleph is influenced by Bach, Beethoven and Pantera. Not a common thing, so I quickly started to listen to the album.

Ayin was born in Moscow, but she now lives in Paris. She started playing the piano at the age of four. At the age of fifteen she enters the conservatory of Moscow. Ayin’s voice has a wide range; she can throw out a roar as well as singing the operatic choruses.

Female fronted goth metal is the first thing that came to mind as I was listening to the album. But nothing like I ever heard, the lyrics on this album are like poetry. The music grabs you, combining metal with classical music. Songs like “My Bloody Marriage” and “Greed” are truly beautiful songs.

This is definitely a unique album, never heard anything like this. And in this day in age that’s a rare thing. Musically it’s a more than ok record, but the vocals take some time getting used too.
